Rome 2 total war most op faction4/11/2024 What happens in 90% of my games right now is that you swarm 40, 60, 80, 120 Corvettes early on then don't build Destroyers at all, MAYBE go for Crusiers, but more realistically wait til you can go Battleships. From a lore/RP sense it wouldn't make sense for a majority of cultures to follow that path, even genocidal ones, but there's essentially 0 reason not to when you are genocidal anyways, the whole BtC Menace system is a mess.ģ) Corvettes: I'm a little shaky on this one, but I do think that nerfing Corvette durability in particular would be a good way to ensure that Destroyers are useful in any real capacity. I also shouldn't feel forced to go for BtC any time I play a genocidal faction. Doing that would prevent cheesy "Crisis Rush" builds where you speedline towards Menancing Ships ASAP to beat the ever-living hell out of every other empire in the lobby, forgoing tech for the most part in favor of sheer military brute force with mineral fueled ships, gaining T4 tech for free with Free Star-Eaters that outscale every AI in the galaxy. That would keep the military buffs more modest early on and really force you to feel the theoretical downside of Ascension as by the time you make that desicion, you are either already pop-capped or already have migration/integration and therefore wouldn't get as massive benefits as live.Ģ) Become the Crisis: I think this particular thing will become egregiously broken post Tech-nerf Beta, but IMO you shouldn't be able to select this ascension perk until the mid-game start year. I think another potential work around would be to delay the archeology site (and therefore, the desicion to Ascend or Descend) by a couple of decades. This should probably be in addition to slightly lowering some of the crazy military boosts (35% to 30% for example) both base Clone Soldier and Ascended Clone Soldier grant their empire. I think a good compromise would be to make the Ascended Clone Soldier trait increase pop upkeep in some way, maybe pops cost extra ECs, CGs, or Food. While I think it should keep its niche of "early game explosion" I do think it's very overtuned (haha genetics joke) in general, and often outperforms other builds in terms of tech rushing/alloy rushing/tradition rushing in the phase of the game that matters ( the first 50 years). I do think I've pin-pointed a few very strong things that really ought not to be as strong as they are.ġ) Clone Soldiers: I don't think it's any secret that this origin is miles above every other origin in terms of early game snowball, particularly military rush. Included in the Black Sea Colonies Culture Pack.I haven't played for very long though I've played a good 200 hours at this point and spent more researching and learning what I can, and am now generally the "best" of my personal friend group for whatever that's worth. With a military composed chiefly of Scythian and Greek unit-types, Cimmeria can offer a swift and unwelcome surprise on the battlefield. Despite this strength, Cimmeria remains under threat from the surrounding nomadic tribes, and from the avaricious gaze of nearby Pontus, whose military strength may yet prove its undoing.Ī truly multicultural society, Cimmeria welcomes foreign peoples into its borders with greater enthusiasm than other states, and its fertile farmlands offer the seed of great profit, in spite of a notoriously corrupt government. The current ruler, Satyrus, conquered nearby Greek cities, heralding the birth of the Cimmerian Kingdom, and a dynasty of rulers that endures to this day. The adventurous Greeks of Miletus, in Asia Minor, formed several colonies around the Black Sea coast during the 6th and 7th centuries BCE in order to exploit its resources for trade with the wider Greek world.īy the beginning of the 5th century BCE their government had gravitated from classical Greek democracy to control by a single family. The Cimmerian Bosporus has been fought over for its resources and strategic importance for millennia.
